
ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Monday notified an Rs0.44 per unit decrease in electricity prices for the month of April under fuel adjustment charges, ARY NEWS reported.
According to NEPRA, the decline in power tariff by Rs0.44 per unit was approved and notified for the month of April under fuel adjustment charges and would be included in the bills of June.
“Only DISCO consumers utilizing upto 300 power units in a month could benefit from the decline,” it said adding that the tariff would not be applicable on industrial consumers availing industrial support package, and K-Electric consumers.

The CPPAG has recommended a decline of Rs0.84 paisa, however, NEPRA made a deduction of Rs7.5 billion in terms of FCA for the month of August and October and has decided to release an amount of Rs4.4 billion in this regard.
“The deduction was estimated after a public hearing of the NEPRA on June 02, 2021, on FCA,” it said.
